Tyron Bands are a good safety device reducing the impact of a tyre blowout.
How they work.
There is a recess around the inner circumference of the wheel. This recess is known as the “fitting well” into which the inner bead of the tyre is dropped into during fitting.
A Tyron band is a mechanical device that is fitted onto the wheel & inside the tyre filling the recess if the tyre deflates, the beads and sidewall of the tyre cannot physically come off the wheel giving the driver time to safely pull the vehicle over to the side of the road.
