Motorists Ignore Penalty Points.

Latest DVLA figures show over 10,000 divers are still on UK roads despite picking up 12 or more penalty points because of “exceptional circumstances”.

Usually when a motorist picks up 9 points they become on edge knowing that the next 3 points will result in losing their license immediately. However latest DVLA figures highlight a shocking truth, that in reality it seems that 12 points may not actually result in a driver losing their license.

Penalty points are designed to keep our roads safe, accidents at a minimum and ensure motorists follow the rules. They are there for a reason.

The figures released by the DVLA will shock the majority of motorists, 80% of which feel that there should be no exception to the rule. 12 points should mean an immediate ban.

With insurance costs rising continuously, drivers are feeling frustrated with other motorists who feel they should be an exception to the rule. With cutbacks happening over every sector, road safety charity Brake revealed that the number of road traffic police in the UK has dropped which further raises fears over the safety on British roads.

What do you think? Should there be exceptions to the rule? Or should a 12 point ban mean a 12 point ban regardless? Let us know.
