1. Motorist pays the price with part worn tyres; left paralysed.
Keith Johnston, 41 from Tyne and Wear suffered terrible life-changing injuries in the smash earlier this year and is now permanently paralysed from the top of his chest down, only able to move his arms and neck. All of the tyres on his vehicle had recently been purchased as part-worns, but was unnaware of the real dangers of driving on part-worn tyres which has now left him paralysed for life.
2. TyreSafe announces next industry briefing.
Tyresfe has announced the date for their upcomming industry meeting. The free to attend event, which is open to anyone interested in tyre and road safety, will also update attendees on TyreSafe’s ongoing part worn tyres campaign.
3. Dunlop truck tyres labelled.
Following the sucessful labelling of all car tyres, Dunlop can now add truck tyres to their completion list in line with new tyre labelling EU regulations set to be introduced in November.
4. Car registrations continue to drop.
New car registrations have continued to drop following the latest release of figures in Europe. The UK has seen a slight increase in new registrations which offers some promise.
